A dream come true ...then, I lost the tone

Hi guys:
I am new in the world of Gibson. I started playing 30 years ago, I stoped and now I am retaking the experience.
I waited those 30 years and finally I bought a Gibson SG Standard. Now I have the money, then I have the dream.
My problem is that my almost brnad new Gibson loses the tone of the second and third strings. I do some bends and that´s it, the tone is gone.
I am so depressed.
I got the Guitar in Toronto (Steve´s Music Store) but live in Mexico City, so there is no way a can go back to the store.
Can any one give me an advice?
