Vox AC4TV
Does anyone have one of these? it is the little 4 watt amp that has the output control so you can turn it down to 1/4 watt of output. apparently it lets you fully saturate the tube, while playing quietly enough that you neighbors don't call the fuzz.
I am intrigued. MF has an 8" speaker model for about $180 with shipping.
I am always interested in shopping for gear rather than putting effort into improving my playing. I am pretty sure that if I had one of these, the sun would shine brighter, people would be nice to each other and I would sound like all of my guitar heros rolled into one.

My son has bought the 10 inch speaker version. Great amp, but be aware they are very loud even at the 1/4 watt level. The other night he hardly had the volume turned on at 1/4 w and his LP was blasting. He really needs to use his guitar volume to turn down.
The 8 inch speaker versions are supposed to be a bit more treble, but not so punchy as the 10

I read somewhere that one of the versions goes down to 1/10 watt.

LOL John. Then his amp wouldn't give him the distortion that he is seeking, right? 1/4 watt is a bit more than 25% of the 4 watt output in volume, adn when maxxed out that little amp will produce more than 4 watts or 1/4 watts...whichever output is selected. Headphones.....all of these little amps need headphone jacks. Then, guitarists wouldn't bother their neighbors, maybe.

The 8" speaker version has 4, 1 & 1/10 watt. I found the 1/10 is too weak. The 1 watt is perfect for my situation. I agree, it should have a headphone jack.

Yep some people don't realise that watts are not a linear progression

I have the AC4TV w/ 10" speaker... using a stock PRS SE semi hollow. I use the 1/4 watt in the house and the bridge p/u has a really nice natural distortion... I got it for $187.00 at my local guitar center... I really like it.
