Hello folks,

I'm mostly a single coil guy but I'm making a home brew guitar and want to use a three humbucker set up. I'm looking for humbuckers with vintage output and sound... just good sounding PAF style pups to cop a 3 Humbucker Les Paul or SG Custom type sound. Here are the pup set ups I'm considerring... I'd appreciate all and any suggestions:

1) Dimarzio Super Distortion bridge, Dimarzio PAF middle, Dimarzio PAF neck

2) Duncan Seth Lover bridge, Duncan 59 middle, Duncan 59 neck

3) Lawrence L500 Regular bridge, Lawrence L500 Clean middle, Lawrence L500 Clean neck

These are the set ups I've been thinking about and as I said my experience is mostly with Fender style single coils. For the three above set ups I'm going on reputation, to some extent bang for the buck prices, and what I think would be good sounding basic Gibson-esque PAF style set ups. Please let me know what you think and by all means make any suggestions.

Thanks in advance!!!!

It always depends how your guitar sounds acoustically which set might be the best for it. I once tested a Super Distortion clone and a DiMarzio PAF at the bridge position of my Tokai Love Rock and liked them both. The '59 from Seymour Duncan in the neck sounded too boomy in another Love Rock, but might be OK in your guitar depending on how much bass it produces.
