I have a Les Paul Custom I want to put new pickups in. I'm a country picker, and I want a sound much like is described in the title of this post. The new Burstbucker pickups sound pretty good to me. Will the Seth Lovers get me close to the same sound? Any other suggestions or advice greatly appreciated. Jonkay1

I have had Seth Lover SH-55 pickups for a dozen years now on my LP Custom. I have enjoyed them, but I am thinking of going for the more open clear sound of the '57 Classic.

They are a bit mid-rangey, and I would say they are more bluesy than country.

Can someone point me to a Seymour Duncan pickup that is the most like Gibson's Classic '57? I have played the 57s on some new guitars, and if I was buying a new Gibson, that would be the only thing I would be looking at.

I want to change out the Seth Lovers on my LP. It is EXACTLY as the seymourduncan site describes them: midrangey, honk-like, and slightly microphonic. I think I am done with that.

I want the more open sound that the 57s deliver, but I don't really care to pay more just because they are Gibson.
