Hi, my name is Ed. I'm new here.
I have been a musician for almost forty years (drums, keyboards, blues harp, vocals). I just started playing guitar three years ago.
I love the pre-war Delta Blues. I am searching for a guitar with good tone for this music. The best thing I've found so far are small bodied post-war Stellas.
I've heard people describe gibsons as "dead." This leads me to think that I might really like one. Trouble is, I've never even seen a Gibson around southern Indiana, let alone had the chance to try one out.
The tone I'm looking for would be punchy and resonant, but without a lot of sweetness or sustain. It would basically be a guitar version of a large and well-tuned bass drum, if that makes sense to you...Does that sound like a Gibson?...Does anyone have any sound clips?...Can anyone tell me where i might go to try out a Gibson in Louisville or Indianapolis?
Thanks and Happy New Year,
Ed
