Here is a Silver Jubilee 2550 head that I just got. Hot amp. I am waiting for the Marshall logo, and I am afraid that the Silver Jubilee badge is unobtainable. It is sitting on top of a '79 1960 cab with G12M-65's. That cab is on its wayto CA and a new home.

Right now I'm selling my DSL100 and beginning a 1987x plexi build. I'm actually modding the plexi to be a dual channel amp with a JCM800 channel in there.
It'll have two Masters (in the Normal and Bright locations) and two Pre/Gains (single input jack, the other jack holes will have these pots and a channel switch). I start on that Wednesday, so hopefully pics will be soon.
As far as my Gibsons, I'll give you a taste now and come back in a week with my amp photos:
'57 RI Les Paul Custom:

2000 Les Paul Junior Lite (I put a minihumbucker in the neck):

2001 ES-135 (I put a HB sized P-90 in the bridge, a Bigsby, and a p/p Volume pot that puts the pickups out of phase):

Finally some amp photos to go with my Gibson photos!
I finished building this yesterday and tweaking it last night. It is a 50w Marshall JCM800 circuit (2204), the catch is that I punched another preamp tube in so I can have two identical channels. I added a footswitch jack, a 12v transformer, and 12v relays all to handle the channel switching.
I added resistors to damp the cascading on Channel #1, making it a Clean channel if I pull the Pre/Gain knob out. Pushing it back in turns it back into a JCM800 channel.
Still looking for another Marshall knob for Channel #2's Pre/Gain control (sitting in the top right Input spot):

Close up of the footswitch preamp 12v relay switches:

Here's the external bias measurement plugs and bias adjustment pot/knob:

It sounds great with my '57 RI, but I really like how it sounds with my LPJr. The Clean channel sounds like a big plexi, and works great for chicken picking with a Tele.

Here is my finished build of a 50watt JCM800 2204 Marshall circuit. My dream amp for live gigs.
The twist is that I added a preamp tube to the chassis and have two footswitchable channels. The 1st channel's Pre/Gain control pulls out to switch to "Clean" if I want as well.
Next to the input jack is the front panel channel switch and there is a footswitch jack on the back.
I used a kit and put the whole thing in a 1987x plexi style "smallbox" head cab:

http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q162/AshCaster/My%20Amps/dual%20JCM800%2050w/preamps.jpg
Unfortunately, the cheap kit's faceplate chipped when I drilled it for the LED lamp/indicator over channel 2's Master knob and the footswitch jack's hole on the back. I may order new faceplates in the future :)

Coming from you Wally, that is a nice compliment!
Thank you.
It's still more messy on the inside than I like, but I'll be recapping it soon. The kit's caps take up too much space and I'll be dropping a multisection cap can in there as well as cleaning things up and using different coupling caps.

since you're on the subject of Marshall amps and I no nothing about them. and I'm
not trying to hyjack the thread. I've got a chance to get one for a good deal. it's a
JCM-2000-60W with TSL601. foot switch is included, also. it is used, but the price
may turn out to be good. are these things any good ? thanks in advance.

I used to have a TSL60 head. They're OK.
The classic Marshall sound can be dialed in on one of them.
It's like comparing the new Fenders to the old ones. Not exactly the same, but with some knob twiddling you can find it.
The reverb sucked and the Clean channel was a dead fish. The Crunch channel is great (easy to get the JCM800 sound), but the Lead channel was fizzy, diode clipping, nu-metal.

thanks, Johnny. I should bring my '73 Les Paul into the store and plug into it. if it's still there the 29th, the sale price will be $117.00. the 30th, it will be $58.00. the 31st, it'll only cost $1.00. but it can be sold out from under me, too. time will tell. thanks again for your help.
