...also ordered a set of Lollar P-90's to install in it. I play jazzy blues and bluesy jazz and will probably use it with my Victoria 35115T Pro or 45410T Bassman. Anyone here owned or played one of these? Comments? Thanks.

I played one when they came out, but the strings were so crappy it was hard to tell what it really sounded like.
I owned a 52 ES-5 for years and it was the best guitar I have ever owned.
I would love to have one of the Epis and rewire it with a 5 way strat switch, one vol and one tone.
The three vol knobs are cool, but I felt that I had to play that guitar every day to be able to "operate" it properly at a gig. Still was a fine, fine tone machine. I'm sure you will be happy. :D
BTW the EPI P-90s aren't that bad.....

If you could, post a review of your Lollar P90's when you get the thing together.
I've played a few ZBD's and I was so singularly unimpressed by the stock Epi pickups that I never bought one. I ended up buying a Fatdog Gene V instead. Same with the Epi ES295 and the Casino. The ZBD is worse though because you have 3 pickups to replace instead of two - more expensive!
I'm in the market for an early 50's ES5 right now. Have to sell a couple of things but I think I'm ready to make that kind of investment..

I got my ZBD about a month ago - I love it!!
I was ready to replace the Pus too, but I actually like them, which surprised me?! Maybe in the future I'll change them, but they seem fine for now.
It would be interesting to here how the lollars sound and the differences between them and the Epi P90s.
I played 2 in the store - a blonde and the vintage sunburst. I ended up with the sunburst, it sounded much better - more mids, a bigger sound. Amazing how 2 identical guitars can sound so different?
I can't find a fault on this guitar, which is more than I can say about other guitars that I own that cost 3 and 4 times as much.

I've seen the ZBD in the store ( a blonde - didn't know they had sunburst), but never had time to play one. It looks pretty cool though! The kind of thing I'll check out one of these days. Now, just start rippin' out those T-Bone Walker riffs......

How does the Zephyr Blues Deluxe compare against an Emperor II Joe Pass model?
Anyone?

I finally found a Flamey Blonde ZBD on ebay for a good price.
Overall a great guitar. Pups are pretty good, but hot. For those guys with low headroom amps that sound great with strats and Teles, you might find the pups too hot.
What I dont like? I don't like the frequensator tailpiece.
I need to find an ES-175 style tailpiece.
Also the bridge radius seems smaller than the fingerboard radius.
Overall the guitar is a great deal for the money.
