hello folks
i have fender original black tolex twin reverb from 1965 and the only modification since its departure from fender is that the caps have been changed .
any thoughts of what this example may be going for on todays market - most likely a 8 out of 10 condition over all
thanks

I believe someone posted this in response to your query on another page???
In my estimation, TR's are priced much below their value. The market is docking this amp $10-20 for every pound over the weight of a Deluxe REverb. So, that means that a TR is going for anywhere from $500-1,000 less than its true value as a sonic machine, imho. LOL
Bunch of wimps can't carry their own water, eh? hehehehe
I dropped off a Marshall 1979 4X12 cab for shipment this morning. Bigger than a TR and weighed 94 lbs. The Marshall box says 'Two Man Lift'....I got no help setting it on the counter scale!
Why are you selling? TOo heavy? GOt pics?

I'd say it's probably $1,500 or a little more. Depends on condition and which brand Fenders speakers ended up in yours. If they are Utahs it's worth less if they are JBLs its worth more.
Does it have a hum? Have casters been put on it? Do you have the footswitch? Is there a cover?
All these things make a difference when it comes to pricing.

I picked up a copy of 2008 Vintage Guitar Price Guide yesterday.
The 1963-1967 Twin Reverb is priced at Excellent Condition, Low $2250 to High $2600.
There is a vintage guitar shop here in my hometown that stocks Fender amps from that era, in less than excellent condition. They are selling in this price range.
I sold an early 70's Silverface Twin that had been reworked to Blackface specs with JBL's for around $950. I am kicking myself now for selling it.
