Okay so it's not an Epi ... but I'm told Samick makes Epiphones anyhow so it's sort of the same thing only more candid branding!

I think this Samick "artist series" is a wonderful instrument ... particularly after replacing the pups. I'm wondering if others have come across this model and are getting similar joy from playing it?!

Glad you like it; I've got that type (budget) of semi on my wishlist. It's so cool that there are actually good qulaity lower priced 335s to choose from these days.
I have my eye on a Cort Triggs with the bigsby.
What PUPs did you use in yours?

I put a Stewart MacDonald "Golden Age" humbucker in the neck position (about $50). Left the bridge stock pickup in. Then changed the volume pot for a push/pull and wired it for in-phase out-of-phase switching for a little harmless fun. Mostly, I wind up playing with new neck position pickup only - reasonably pleased!

Happy hunting

I have found the upper-end/set-neck Samicks to represent excellent value. However, the Samick 335's differ from the Epies in one major respect, and that's in deviating from the Gibson woods formula.

One Watt, I owned a Samick ES-335 like guitars. I forgot the acutal model number but it was a pretty flamed maple top and maybe sides and back but I forget. It was like Gibson Les Paul orange burst. It was so pretty. Played well and sounded very good. I was impressed with it. Sold it to raise money for other guitars but if I can one day I'll get another just like that Samick.

I got the Samick Artist model 335 copy a few years ago... had the neck gone over by the dealer/luthier that I bought it from.... It is probably the best feeling slickest neck I've felt... plays beautiful and the original pickups were good sounding but the neck pickup cover kinda rattled and I could hear it amplified... so I dropped in some Semour (sp?) Duncan '59 PAF pickups in that I had laying around.... sounds very good.....
