Did all 1950's Juniors have dogear P-90 pickups?

All 1950's Les Paul Jr. and 1960's Les Paul Jr. and SG Jr. guitars that I have seen have dogear pickup covers. However, I am finding more and more soapbar P-90 pickups screwed to the bottom of the cavity beneath them, including in some supposedly original condition mid 50's examples.

Shouldn't they all have been dogear pickups originally?

As far as juniors go, they should all have dog ears; specials ( which have two pups) should all have soaper's screwed into the body.
