G'day peeps,

Im looking at purchasing one of these puppies from a store in the US and get it shipped back to Australia.

However, im trying to get an idea of the type of sounds they produce - as I cant get my hands on one here in Australia.

Can anyone tell me of any famous player that I could dig up and have a listen to?

I guess when im playing i like my rock / blue's over driven sounds - im not really into my jazz clean driven tones that get associated with the 335's and 356's.

However for versatility this seems the guitar for me. I should be able to play lead behind a picked up acoustic for small gigs, and rock it out in the larger ones.

And loved it. But at $3599 canadian its waaaaaayyy to expensive for me. Its got classic '57s and a solid but hollowed out mahogany body w'a maple top. It sounded very warm thru a traynor 20 watt tube amp w/celestion greenbacks. I thought it was a great and very versatile git.
I'd love one!

Well my current setup is a Vox AC 30 TBX - Celestion Blue's, with a Teese Picture Wah and im thinking about throwing either a Analog man moded ts9 or a Marshall Bluesbreaker to get that nice O/D sound / blues crunch.

I guess the sound im trying to achive is everything from clean tones, to Whitestripes blues gritty over drive.

On the topic - does anyone know the biggest differences between the 356 and the 336?

Gold hardware, optional Bigsby, ebony fingerboard, inlay - heck, if it had a Varitone, the comparisons would be the same as a 335 vs. a 355
