First of all my guitar is not a Gibson but thought you guys could help. Mine is a cheap Galveston brand but it does have a pretty good sound. I have been reading some people that are playing rockabilly are switching the neck humbucker for a P90. If any of you have done this please let me know how it went for you and did it help get that great rockabilly sound? What kind of P90 did you install ect.
Lastly, Some of the Gibson's like the Chet models and Gibsons that Scotty Moore plays have an arm rest on the lower bout. Why is this? does this help them keeping the proper hand position for Travis picking? and can anyone tell me how thick (or how far out) from the guitar the rest comes out?
I appreciate your help and advice and please don't rip me since I do not have a Gibson yet.
