Hi all newbie here. I am shopping for a 335 and am considering a 80's dot reissue to get some old-ish wood and less plasticised finish. Do any of these guitars measure up? If you have both vintage and reissue instruments, give me the comparisons and caveats Thanks!

ES 335s have nitro cellulose finish - no plastic used. he Memphis series - in particular 2000-2001 are EXCELLENT guitars - to me far better than a lot of the 80s guitars from Nashville and has some of the classic features like long neck tenon (although maybe a not quite as wide as an original 1959s). When I bought my 335 (01) I had the opportunity to chose almost everything - 70s, 80s, Historics from CS and so on... but I did find the production ES 335 the best. The Historica are really a marketing thing and the 70s and many 80s doesn't have the classic features. Troels
