I'm about to buy a '65 SG Junior which has the stock 'stepped' bridge that is compensated for a WOUND third string. Does Gibson supply a modern version that is compensated for a PLAIN third string ?

Or - does anyone else manufacture a one-piece version with unwound G-string compensation ?

I think a solid one-piece bridge is needed to maintain the tone of the guitar.

I don't think anything like what you want exists BUT I bet a PRS compensated tailpiece would work pretty well for you. It is compensated but still one piece.

I feel you pain. I have been looking for a one piece solution for my 57 Junior for years.

Good Luck!

Back in the day I had a dogear P90 SG Jr with a neck thick as the business end of a baseball bat. Wish I still had it.

It, like my non-reverse Firebird I, had a Leo Quan Badass bridge on it so I could intonate. Worked like a champ.

Still around (no relationship to LQ, just a satisfied customer):

I've got the correct compensated bridge for an SG Junior using a plain third string !!!!

Gibson will tell you that they can't supply one but the SG Pete Townsend model comes with one - all I did was order a replacement bridge for that guitar!

It's a perfect fit for the Junior and the guitar has never been more in tune.

I think I'll order one for my '54 LP RI as well.
