View Full Version : Anyone own a Epi LP Jr. DC?

Just bought a new Epi LP Jr. DC with a single P-90. Own a '70 Gibson ES-335, a Tele, a PRS and an '90s Ibanez Talman. I bought the Epi for the P-90.

I really WANT to like it, but it's "tinny" sounding. I've adjusted the truss rod, changed the strings, everything short of swapping out the bridge, nut, pickup, etc., which pretty much defeats the purpose of a $150 guitar.

I gigged with it once (I play funk in an eight-piece, horn-driven band) and our sound tech said half-jokingly, "Never use that thing again."

I keep it in my classroom (I'm a HS teacher) for students to come in and beat on, along with a Roland Blues Cube-30. When I bring it home to play through my tubes, it still kinda sounds like crap.

Any thoughts?

Peace.
