Howdy,

I've ordered a set of SD "Phat Cats" (couldn't they have chosen a better name?) for my Gibson ES-335. I've read the reviews on HC and while the reviews aren't all glowing with praise, they aren't negative either.
Given my indiffrence to HBers, I've got nothing to lose; after all, the original HBers COULD go back in. I'll keep ya'll posted on weather the SD "Phat Cats" allow me to achieve that "Get Off My Cloud" tone which I'm chasing.

Respectfully,
Eggman

Eggman:

So whats the verdict in the Phat Cats??

Thinking of trying them myself, also considering Kent armstrongs p90 sized like a HB.

I couldn't be happier with mine! I have an Ibanez Artcore thick body archtop with a pointed cutaway and a gold finish. It looks a lot like one of those old Gibson 295's (I think that's the model). I wanted to really make it retro so I added those Gibson Tulip tuners and an old Bigsby Vibrato. For pickup I had the Phat Cats installed and it really sounds great. I can get that old Scotty Moore 50's sound to a tee with this guitar. I have a couple of other guitars with real P-90s in them and IMO this guitar is louder & brighter while still retaining a "fatness" to the sound. I'm thinking of having a set installed in my Epi Sheraton later this year..............JH in Va.
