Epiphone Sheraton stop tail correct mounting for Bigsby

I'm looking for some advice on mounting my stop tail studs to the body of the guitar. I've recently added a Bigsby B3 but the break angle isnt correct so the strings jump off the bridge when using the bigsby. I bought a cheapie roller bridge and it works fine, but it sounds thin compared to the tone pros I had on it. I bought a towner bar to correct this, but the stop tail piece studs aren't screwed down to the body, so they pop up from pressure. Has anyone mounted the stop tail studs directly to the body? I heard some do it for sustain.
Thanks.
