Hi; I recently purchased a new Epi Les Paul Studio Chameleon from a large authorised Canadian dealer.
On the back of the headstock it has labels:
"Hand Crafted in China"
"Limited Edition Epiphone Custom Shop"
"08081510869"

I believe these were only made around 2007 but the serial number puzzles me.
Anyone have an idea where or when this was made??

Hi,
your guitar was made
08=year
08=month
15=factory code for QuingDao, (Gibson owned) former "EE"
10869=production#

Guitardater don't know the newer serial#
and there's no "Custom-Shop" it's just a sticker.

Thank you so much.
I tried looking at serial number configurations, but the info I had dug up didn't mention "15" for a factory - it only showed alphabetic factory codes.
And of course the serial number tracker couldn't handle the number the way it was.
