Epiphone les paul vs Gibson sgj 2013

Hey all! im new here! I was offered these in a trade, i can take either or, which one should i go for? ive played both, i like both, but the sgj has that fatter neck which will take some getting used to, but im more concerned over which would benefit me more, i play mostly blues and jazz, with a bit of rock here and there

Just on general principle, I would go with the LP. It is going to cover more of the ground that you want to cover.

Welcome to Gibson Talk GuitarGuy!! Go with what feels right. Neither are extremely expensive guitars. Value wise, fairly similar... Gibson has the "name" but if you can't bond with it, what's the use?

Yeah welcome to Gibson-Talk! Like the man said, play them both and go with the one that you connect with the best. That is more important than all the other features. If the one with the thicker neck doesn't seem like you'll ever get comfortable on it, then go with the other one.

I have an SGJ, and several different Epiphone LPs. Buy what you like! And welcome.
