Empty Serial Number plate -

Help - I just got this Epiphone S Series solid body guitar, and when I turned it over to get the serial number, the plate on the back was empty! What does this mean? Is it a demo model?

No, it's just that Epiphone didn't stamp that one. I've had Epi Sheratons that had no serial number on their labels inside the body.
Some contend that rock 'n roll is bad for the body & bad for the soul.
Bad for the heart, bad for the mind, bad for the deaf & bad for the blind.
It makes some men crazy and they talk like fools.
Makes some men crazy and they start to drool.

I agree with you Stan.

Lots of the guitars may have a paper serial and the glue has let loose after a short time.

I have a Sheraton II from 1992 and an Ibanez ADK 120BK (Ice Man style-Les Paul) from 2007 and both of these have set necks and have paper serial numbers for quite a while, I'm lucky the number is still there!
