I just picked up a P90 version of the same guitar, I like it a lot, but wish I had got a different color... it was used, so I didnít have the option.

I actually put up an ad locally to see if anyone wanted to swap, but no takers.

Geoff, that's a nice looking 339. Play the heck out of it.

Welcome to Gibson Talk! So that"s you with the ad on Kijiji? I saw that the other day ( I live out in the "Creek") and, like Geoff's 339, yours is quite the looker too. I like sunbursts...makes the guitars much classier looking.

Ha, wondered if I was going to out myself by saying that!

As I said in the ad, I donít hate it, it, just donít love it, and itís a bit too similar to an Ibanez Iíve got. No complaints where it matters though.

As for the ďwelcomeĒ, thanks. Didnít realize that was my first post, been lurking for awhile and the tapatalk app tends to mush all the different boards together. I should probably go do a proper ďhelloĒ post.

Nice axe!
I got mine September 1st. Wanted a guitar with humbuckers so I took the plunge with an online buy. Never had done that online. I got lucky. Paid extra for a setup and intonation and this thing sounds very good and is beautiful. Love the neck! Only complaint was "the f-hole" people got a bit outside the lines with the perma-marker and some Turtle Wax Light rubbing compound fixed all that. I got the blond natural and took the pickguard off almost immediately. So far I'm happy and will let y'all know if anything goes awry.
Glad to have found this site! I had read many many reviews on this guitar and a vast majority were excellent. Thank you for having me around.

Why? There are a lot of people who want a nice playable guitar, but cannot afford the prices that Gibson charge these days.

Exactly! The pots and switches are much higher quality than the old Korean built guitars (pots are Alphas). I had an Epi Dot and never found it to be dark and muddy like everyone said they were. Leave it as is if you are happy with it. Don't believe everything you read in forums like these.

Thanks Rob,
To my ears the es 339 really sounds lovely, completely different tones to the Telecaster that I also have.
I use the Telecaster for certain songs and now the Eppi for others, what more could anyone want ?
