How to Open Epiphone Blues Custom 30 and Valve Jr. Amps?

Recently moved and my amps are now not working properly. Tubes may have gotten jarred loose by the movers. Hoped to look inside to make sure tubes are seated properly but can't get the back off my Blues Custom 30 amp. Removed the ten obvious screws but no luck. Anyone know how to get this amp open? Have a Valve Jr. also, but haven't tried to open that one yet. Will I have the same problem? Any suggestions? Thanks!

The tolex may have gotten sticky and may require a little force. I have that problem on my Fender Blues Deluxe whenever I try to take the back off. In my case, I believe heat from the tubes softens up the lacquer on the tweed. Just use a flat object and lightly pry all around the back until it loosens up.

Yup, it just needs a little friendly persuasion! Those screws are all it should take to gain entrance. And those are great little amps!

Thanks to Infant and SAguitar for suggestions. I'll give it another try.

I've got a Blues Custom 30, and it's the "glassiest-sounding" amp I've ever heard. I haven't played it in a long time, but I do not remember any problems. Therefore, I've never checked to see how it opens, but I might investigate.

I play almost exclusively at home through my Epiphone Valve Jr. I have done a lot of mods to it, but I absolutely love it. At 5 watts, it's a little underpowered for the stage but by itself at home it is glorious. I should have picked up a Blues Custom 30 while they were available!
