1963 Hummingbird with Block Inlays

I inherited my mom's 1963 Hummingbird. It's got block inlays. Same as in this rad video:

But the common inlay pattern is a parallelogram. Anyone know if this was a custom option, and if it adds or detracts from the guitar's value?

Pics would help. What's on the headstock. Kay made a Hummingbird replica with block inlays instead of the parallelogram.
