Hi from San Diego beach!

Hi,

I am looking forward to jamming on my new Gibson Flying V here in sunny San Diego.

Cheers,

Too late now! We're already jealous, but still without pics, it didn't happen.

Welcome to Gibson-Talk, SoCal!

I should have her in few days then can rock out. I figure it is great axe to learn how to play guitar on as a newbie. I tried cheap crappy ones but did not enjoy playing the $100 cheap charlie specials and with this baby can play for years.

There ya go! I've always tried to play with instruments that inspired me to play more. And in a similar vein, I've tried to play with players that were better than I so I would be challenged to get better quicker.

My baby finally arrived today and it is FANTASTIC! Here is the unboxing video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LpiUlCfi57g

I hooked her up to my Peavey 6505 amp and Orange cabinet and must say WOW the sound is incredible from power to deep sounds. I played a few scales and look forward to learning how to really play her well for blues and rock.

Thanks! I had my very first guitar lesson today and learned to play Happy Birthday and Ode to Joy. Now I can play these two songs on my new Gibson Flying V guitar.

Yeah it is tons of fun. Have to get used to the weird playing position sitting down using classical position with leg between the V shape though. It was fun playing this and my ESP guitar and noting the differences in tone and sound. I think playing standing up is way easier for the V than sitting down. I need to figure out a way to either keep the supplied Gibson strap from falling off the guitar or how to remove the guitar strap screws to put on my Loxx guitar kit. Anyone know how to do this?
