Hello From Charlottesville VA

I'm a new member. One of my five guitars is a J-185, sunburst, 2007. My other four are Guilds. I would be interested in opinions about the J-185, and why it isn't made anymore.

Hi and welcome to G-T. Sorry that I can't give you an opinion on the guitar (I've never played one) but I can say that Gibson probably stopped making them as maybe they weren't popular at the time or they replaced them with a new model. However, they do re-issue them from time to time.
Take Care

Hi Rich and welcome to this place.

Never played a J-185 but Gibson have made some great acoustics. Personally wish they would ship them with on-board pickup systems like other manufacturers do.

Guild also make great guitars.

Welcome to Gibson-Talk, Rich! I'm pretty much exclusively an electric guitarist. I do have one acoustic, but only play it on occasions when I have to.
Some contend that rock 'n roll is bad for the body & bad for the soul.
Bad for the heart, bad for the mind, bad for the deaf & bad for the blind.
It makes some men crazy and they talk like fools.
Makes some men crazy and they start to drool.
