It used to be Alpine White

Brand new to the forum.
I have a 1999 LP Studio that was Alpine White when I bought it. Now it’s more like Alpine Yellowed. Sometimes I think it’s OK but sometimes I wish it were still Alpine White. Gold hardware.
Is it necessary to do a complete refinish of the body?
Suggestions?

I have an old Strat that did the same thing. I blame lots of smoky bars and late night practices with three guys that chain smoked.
Personally, I think it adds character to the guitar.
But, that yellow is not going to clean up nicely at all. I'd keep it like it is, and if you ever decide to sell it, call it "relicked" and add $100 to the price.

That is the nature of the beast for all white finishes. I don't even know why they cook all these exotic names for shades of white, when 10 years down the road they all go either cream or yellow. I kinda like my old "white" Strat took, it adds character.

Sunburst finishes go through the same thing. Over time the red fads away and it mellows out nicely.

I’ve had a few players tell me the same. Thanks! I’ll leave it be.

Cool. Accepting the inevitable sometimes brings peace.

Yes just let the guitar age with time. I used to have blond hair when younger. What little is left is now grey.
