It sound like you know what pickups to get. Either the ones JC uses or ZW uses. Slap 'em in your LP and I'm sure you'll be amazed.

In 1985 Gibson made a run of Studio models as their pilot runs that were carved top standards with dot inlays on the fretboard , I have sold several and they are still available if you look ,this would be my option for a "Keeper"...... Greg.

Read the title to your post and just new you were talking about Slash tone. till i read your post and saw that you already had'a Slash epi.. hehe!! +1 on pu's but for another 75$$/100$$ bucks go ahead and get the gibby wiring harness too!! sexy sexy!! makes me grin just to think of how nice my lil epi sounds now... oh! and i liked the epi stuff so much i upgradded a little DeArmond M66 with the takeoff's, she's a little beasty now too..
