There are some things I just don't do, and G.C. is one of them. I would rather set my entire guitar collection on fire then enter one of those stores.
I hope that clears that up, but Thank You for trying to help me find a store.

You may not like it, but that's the only way you're going to be able to lay hands on a large number of new Les Pauls.
Or you could just order one online that you hate.

Yeah. Sadly Gibson is not consistent with their quality so I wouldn't trust buying online. I bought a Les Paul Standard Faded and a BFG from musiciansfriend.com and both guitars had to have work done on the electronics, frets and both had to have a full setup. Mom and pop stores are great, but they won't have the inventory that GC has. GC is your best bet.

disco,
All new Gibsons need a complete setup. All new Gibsons need to have the nut re-cut. A disturbingly large number need fretwork. It's nothing unusual at all.

I swore off that chain store some time ago and I hate to eat me own words. I will wait till the guitar show roll around again. I am ok with waiting till mid summer, if thats what it takes.
Wildwood Guitars has a nice selection of Les Pauls. It is a start for me to see what all is out there.
Anybody know what models of Les Paul do not have the fat 50's style neck?
I am leaning toward getting one without that style of neck.

The LP Classics have the 60s slim taper neck, and the Standards come with both, so you can choose. The Gibson website lists the specs for each model (but not all on the same page).

All of mine needed setups, that's for sure. Something has to wake Gibson up. I guess the only way that'll happen is when they fall flat on their face.

Amen to that. The guitar I have now is an epi les paul and I like it but I think im ready to move up to the gibson les paul standard. My epi picked me in a way it was a display model in a local store and I actually went in there several times and picked it up and jammed with the salesman with the same guitar (i know cause there are a couple of imperfections like the label ring around the pup switch, the writing wasn't black like the others it had been over looked) when my parents went into that store for Christmas with the hints I dropped them the sales man said that they must be looking for that exact guitar and even gave them a small discount on it. Even though I am gonna step up to a Gibson I dont think I can part with my Epi I like to too much.

I'm still trying to hear the answer to the "Are there Guitar Shows in Denmark" question.
