Very Sad

Yeah! Another one of my influences falls off the perch. Must be a really good band somewhere in the afterlife! Chuck was a great influence at the start of my interest in guitar and rock (I'm that old!) I remember buying an EP 45 record, thinking that it was by some white rockabilly country guy I'd been hearing on the radio and turning over the sleeve to see a picture of...a black man! Thanks Chuck for turning me on to searching out all the great black blues guys. R.I.P - though I guess you'll be ripping it up wherever!

Chuck wrote like the Old Testament of Rock 'n Roll, thanks for all you gave us, brother. You will always be missed. Rest in peace.

My first brush with RNR irreverence, a friend's older brother had a greatest hits that we wore out when I was about nine or ten. He was an inspiration.

Great innovator and song stylist. Huge influence on three generations now. Very hard to work with and very cheap with his sidemen. In the end, the songs are what he'll be remembered for and good on him.

Chuck and his wife just celebrated 70 years of marriage, so he must've done something right! Or just got good at apologizing.
