Help identifying my vintage modified Les Paul

Serial number: 851042

https://imgur.com/a/dJTgx1h

I ran the serial number through http://www.guitardaterproject.org/gibson.aspx and it said it could have been made in a whole bunch of different years.

This was my late father's guitar which I inherited when I was 11 in the late 80s. I'm also a guitarist and would never sell it, but I was wondering if I could figure out what year it was from and which parts were original. My mom says it was originally black and from the late 60s but it could be as new as the early 80s. It doesn't say Gibson anywhere on it.

Thanks for any help!
