We lost two very old cats within the last 5 months. They were Kim's cats, and she'd had them for 17 and 18 years. I had lived with them for 4 years.

I'm not a cat person, but it was hard to see them go.

We've never been pet people. My son just got a cat and she's okay to visit with but at this point in my life, I don't feel the need to be looking after another living thing full time. I may sound a bit selfish but now that our kids are independant, we are enjoying some freedom to do as we please.

I65, I'm sorry for your loss. Losing 2 in a matter of a few months is difficult as they are part of your family.

I've never had a pet as an adult, but as I got up in years, I felt I always enjoyed cats and if I wanted to have one through it's life cycle, I'd better do it now! :^) Amazing creatures, I'm very happy I brought them in.

Also sorry for your pets passing indiananation65, they mean so much.

We've always had dogs and cats, and get along fine with them. We've got a regular pet cemetery around here, just lost one cat a couple of months ago. They are like part of the family. Right now we're down to one dog and 4 cats.
