Right Place-Right time

Kinda quiet around here, here's a little story that may help keep the lights on for a while. In the late 60's, we did a lot of gigging in the Tulsa area. One night found me in a place called The Brass Rail-a nice little country music joint I often went, to listen to Bob Wooten and his band. Bob's claim to fame was that he knew every Johnny Cash song there was.
After Luthers tragic death, Carl Perkins,(no relation) filled in for a few shows...Bob went down to Fayetteville to catch John's concert, and found out
that he did not have a leadman for the show(a delayed flight with Carl Perkins on board) Bob told John that he knew all the songs, and could he help out with the show.
He blew them away, sounding just like Luther..Cash called him a few days
later, and he played with him for 30 yrs....like I said, the right place at the
right time-luck ain't nothin' but preparation meetin' opportunity........

Wow, that's a great one, Tom! Really, there is no replacement for a lot of good woodsheddin' time. A lot of guys make fun of that music, but it is a lot harder to nail that groove than it sounds like.
