They have repro studs and wheels for $55! I will see my machine shop friend tomorrow. I'll let you guys know how my own repro project turns out.

There you go. Kowing the market for the guitars that those studs and wheels fit, I would have thought that the price would be around that. Have your machinist friend figure out what he would charge a paying customer for the time that it takes to build those, and I would think that a one-off situation in a machine shop would get even higher than $55. I am sure that his per hour labor charge is more than $55.

I have never seen a Gibson wheel with bevelled edges. OUt of curiousity, if I wanted a set of those without the bevelled edges, what would your friend charge for a set?

My friend may have overdone the bevel but the edges have to be finished, otherwise they would be like saw blades. He was working off a photo. If he had the real thing, he could duplicate them very closely. Here is a photo of a 67 bridge and thumbwheels that I found on the web.
I'll ask if he would be interested in making more. He is already pretty busy with other work though.
