I'm having P90s put in mine as we speak and the tech is making a new pickguard. We're going with the JJ double cut style pickguard to cover the new neck route and large pups. I almost wish I would have went w/one P90 and 1 mini bucker in the bridge, but pups are already paid for.

Sounds like it's going to turn out great emoney, be sure to post a picture here and in the Melody Maker fan club too!
And you can always modify your Melody Maker in the future-I have a few Teles that are constantly getting modded.

I owned a bashed up melody maker back in the 70's. It had two lipstick pickups in it. It would be interesting to hear one with a mini humbucker.

I have a MM 2007 dual pick-up, I swaped the original pu with a Dimarzio Area 61 in neck and Virtual Heavy Blues 2 in bridge. The sound is very good but too lively or spanky with the 500k pot. I will change to a 250K vol pot to tame a litlle the dinamics.
