Other Guitars Got a Tokai or Agile? Some other LP or ES Copy? What to discuss Strats and Teles? It doesn't have to resemble a Gibson to be discussed, but if it does that's even better.

I remember that a couple of guys in my hometown were fans of ovation guitars-2 brothers that started a band and they both had Deacon electrics and one of those round backed acoustics. They sure stood out from all the other local bands when they played them.

That whammy on that ovation is unique too, looks like is was from the Art Deco era!

noname, I actually had one of these about 1984. I bought it frim my bass player used. Don't know what it was called. Mine had a trapeze tailpiece. I got rid of it in a fit of "I want something else" ,and have been sorry ever since. The guy that got it, put a set of heavy guage strings on it and warped the neck beyond repair, and now wants a mint for it. As I recall, it played great (at the time) and had a real sweet, wet, smooth, clean sound, more than any guitar I've had before or since. Pity, hindsight and all that. Hold on to it, it's a nice piece.

I have been playing a lot lately. Gawd it has great tone. I really like his guitar.

BTW that's all mahogany--best I can tell there's no plywood in this baby

I would call it a beautiful guitar. I have one of the very first ones off the line.

I agree with Indianation on this. They are their own guitar with a sound that is all their own. Especially after 42 years.

Cherish it or sell it to me!!

Thanks TM, I don't think I will be selling it anytime soon. great pickups. I have locked down the vibrato, and now the tuning is very stable.
