Which Pickups?

Okay, So MY DAD isn't impressed with the pick-ups on my SG, he uses it sometimes and he says they aren't hot enough, the pick-ups on his 335 are hotter. I wouldn't mind getting hotter pick-ups anyway, so has anyone got any suggestions? I play Blues, funk, rock, heavy rock, jazz... pretty much anything, and my dad plays Steely Dan, in his tribute band. So i want them coil tap-able.

Cheers. Chris.

PS the pick-ups on there at the moment are just the Gibson standard 490T and 490R thingys.

Is his 335 an original or a reissue?

There's absolutely nothing wrong with the 490R / 498T pickup sets. If you can't make them work for you, it's not the pickups' fault.

ha. 1: shutup.

2: the pickups are hideously underpowered, i have to have my gain all the way up to get a okay sound, which then causes feedback... which isnt nice. I want hotter ones because i do... no problem in that. favourite guitarist being steve lukather, i cant get anywhere near his sound with these.

3: wouldn't it have been easier to say nothing at all? or at least something constructive? jackass.
