Anyone here pulled the covers off the 490/498s on a recent year Gibson?

How do the bobbins look? Good, cheap? Super waxy? Clean up easily?

Pics if you got’m and thanks in advance!

I prefer with nickel covers, black plastics and 5 ply pickguard, Historic switch tip and black poker chip, amber knobs and Gibson ABR-1 Bridge :)
The Tibute is a good cheap guitar, I paid 700 €uros.

    @ Original poster :

You can find wax Under the covers, to remove it you need blotting-paper and flatiron. You put blotting-paper on the humbucker with heat the wax will go into the paper.

I’ve been digging you’re axe. You’ve inspired me to do black plastics on a second Goldtop for sure and I had ZERO wax to contend with. How crazy is that? Normally it’s a chore to remove the wax.
