Was looking at 2016/17 Trad's. The pots in the 17 were weird. The volume pots were practically on-off switches and the tone pots did very little. On the '16, the pots worked as expected. Tired two '17's with the same result. The salesman told me they were 250k pots that were not audio taper, and the would switch them for better 500k pots for the volume controls for $25 to solve the problem if I wanted the guitar. This whole thing strikes me as odd. The only reason I was looking at the '17 was because I like the burstbuckers a little better than the '57 classics in the '16. Anyone have any insights to share on this?

25 bucks is cheap for replacing with 4 decent pots, and 500k should work much better with humbuckers than 250k controls.

I have a pair of LPs with BBs and '57s and I can barely tell the difference between the two! I like 'em both.

Yeah, I think I'll stick with the '16
